GIS layers prepared for a client test import
GIS Mapping Services
Prepare spatial layers, attributes and update packages against the rules your operational GIS requires.
Discuss this service ↗︎Spatial data that can be loaded, queried and maintained.
Consistent schemas and coded attributes
Documented topology and completeness checks
When to bring in this service.
- Municipal and utility GIS teams with update backlogs
- Engineering programs converting CAD or imagery into GIS
- Organizations cleaning or consolidating legacy spatial data
Asset inventory
Visible and supplied assets captured with identifiers, domains and attributes required by the operational model.
Data conversion
CAD, SHP, spreadsheets and field records reconciled into a consistent geospatial schema.
Maintenance mapping
Change layers and production updates prepared for controlled review before loading to the system of record.
Schema-first GIS production for operational systems.
GIS mapping services for asset inventories, planimetric data, spatial databases, data conversion and production updates.
Planimetric GIS mapping
Utility and municipal asset inventories
SHP and FileGDB production
CAD-to-GIS conversion
Data cleanup and conflation
Topology and attribution QA
Change detection and update layers
Pole, attachment and equipment GIS records
Production workflow
Every project begins with a representative sample and measurable acceptance criteria.
Model
Confirm feature classes, geometry types, domains, relationships and coordinate systems.
Capture
Extract or convert features from LiDAR, imagery, CAD and existing records.
Enrich
Populate, normalize and validate required attributes and identifiers.
Validate
Check topology, completeness, attribution and package structure before loading.
Checks to agree with your reviewers.
Checks are selected from the actual deliverable specification and confirmed during calibration.
- Schema and domain validation
- Topology and duplicate checks
- Required-field completeness
- Coordinate and cross-source reconciliation
Work with the data you already capture.
Start with a source inventory and a representative sample. Confirm transfer arrangements before sharing restricted data.
Prove the handoff can be loaded without losing meaning.
Define delivery of the schema mapping, data dictionary, feature counts, validation results, provenance fields and a list of unresolved source conflicts.
- Import a pilot into a test workspace and validate fields, types and domains
- Check agreed topology rules, identifiers, duplicates and relationships
- Reconcile change counts and preserve unknown values instead of inventing attributes
Before you send a sample.
Can you match an existing GIS schema?+
Yes. We work with your field definitions, domains, subtypes, identifiers and accepted reference data.
Can CAD be converted into GIS?+
Yes. CAD geometry can be cleaned, structured, attributed and transformed into GIS feature classes.
Can you prepare utility pole GIS records for an engineering workflow?+
Pole, attachment, equipment and span records can be scoped against client templates. SPIDAcalc compatibility must be demonstrated with a pilot import in the receiving version. Loading assumptions, structural analysis and engineering decisions remain with the qualified engineer.
Which GIS formats are supported?+
Common outputs include SHP, FileGDB, GeoPackage, GeoJSON, CSV and database-ready exchange formats.
Discuss the scope
and required outputs.
Share the approximate volume, required outputs and acceptance criteria. Altivue Geospatial will define a focused production pilot.
