Less manual interpretation for your internal team
LiDAR Data Extraction
Convert dense point clouds into defined feature layers for review by your mapping, engineering or asset team.

Consistent geometry across large production areas
Traceable rules for ambiguous and occluded features
When to bring in this service.
- Aerial mapping firms with extraction backlogs
- Engineering teams building existing-condition bases
- Utilities and municipalities updating asset inventories
Planimetric mapping
Buildings, pavement, curbs, sidewalks, drainage and visible site features captured to a defined catalogue.
Corridor inventory
Poles, signs, barriers, road furniture and linear assets structured for review and downstream use.
3D engineering context
Measured elevations retained for breaklines, profiles, clearances and design-reference geometry.
A defined catalogue of visible features.
LiDAR data extraction and human-reviewed feature capture for roads, buildings, utilities, terrain and client-defined assets.
Buildings and roof outlines
Road, curb and sidewalk features
Poles, wires and utility assets
Drainage and hydro features
Terrain breaklines and contours
Custom feature catalogues in 2D or 3D
Production workflow
Every project begins with a representative sample and measurable acceptance criteria.
Define
Translate your feature catalogue, tolerances and attribution rules into an executable capture specification.
Calibrate
Complete a representative area containing normal conditions and genuine edge cases.
Extract
Combine fit-for-purpose automation with expert 3D interpretation and manual capture.
Verify
Check completeness, geometry, topology, elevations and attribution before delivery.
Checks to agree with your reviewers.
Checks are selected from the actual deliverable specification and confirmed during calibration.
- Feature completeness by area or tile
- Geometry continuity and closure
- Elevation and source alignment
- Attribute and layer conformance
Work with the data you already capture.
Start with a source inventory and a representative sample. Confirm transfer arrangements before sharing restricted data.
Check what was captured and what could not be resolved.
Define a handoff containing the extracted layers, source references, a coverage index and an exception layer for obscured or uncertain features.
- Compare sampled features with source views and approved capture examples
- Review omissions and commissions against the agreed feature catalogue
- Check geometry, elevations, required fields and unresolved-feature flags
Before you send a sample.
What features can be extracted from LiDAR?+
Common features include buildings, road edges, curbs, sidewalks, poles, wires, drainage, terrain breaklines and vegetation boundaries. Custom assets can be calibrated from accepted examples.
Can extraction be delivered in 3D?+
Yes. Features can retain measured elevations and be delivered as 3D polylines, points, CAD geometry or GIS features where the source supports them.
Do you use imagery with LiDAR?+
Yes. Imagery often improves interpretation of feature type, boundaries, materials and partially occluded objects.
