Less redrawing for designers and analysts
LiDAR to CAD & GIS Vectorization
Translate measured point-cloud evidence into disciplined geometry that follows your CAD and GIS standards.
Discuss this service ↗︎Measured geometry that designers and analysts can continue using.
Consistent layers, symbols and attributes
Measured 3D geometry connected to source evidence
When to bring in this service.
- Survey and engineering teams preparing existing conditions
- Utilities building pole, span and attachment records
- GIS teams converting point-cloud evidence into structured assets
Design base production
2D plans, 3D feature lines, breaklines and surfaces organized in the client’s working template.
Utility documentation
Pole profiles, attachments, spans and measured elevations prepared for engineering review workflows.
Operational GIS
Point, line and polygon features attributed to the required schema and checked for topology.
CAD and GIS aligned to the working template.
LiDAR and point-cloud to CAD or GIS vectorization for 2D plans, 3D linework, surfaces, assets and attributed mapping.
2D and 3D CAD base mapping
Road, curb and sidewalk linework
Building footprints and structures
Pole profiles and utility features
Terrain surfaces and breaklines
Attributed SHP, GDB and CAD layers
Production workflow
Every project begins with a representative sample and measurable acceptance criteria.
Align
Calibrate layers, line types, blocks, attributes, elevations and geometry rules.
Vectorize
Interpret the point cloud in 3D and capture coherent point, line and polygon features.
Construct
Build surfaces, profiles, sections and connected networks where required.
Check
Review layers, duplicates, crossings, closures, elevations, topology and plotting behavior.
Checks to agree with your reviewers.
Checks are selected from the actual deliverable specification and confirmed during calibration.
- Layer, block and style compliance
- 3D elevation continuity
- Snaps, duplicates and crossings
- GIS topology and required attributes
Work with the data you already capture.
Start with a source inventory and a representative sample. Confirm transfer arrangements before sharing restricted data.
Test the drawing and the data in your working template.
Request native or agreed exchange files, a layer/schema mapping, source references and a QA list covering geometry and unsupported features.
- Open the delivery in the agreed CAD/GIS software version
- Check units, elevations, layers, feature IDs and required object types
- Review connections, closures and surface breaklines against accepted examples
Before you send a sample.
Can you convert a point cloud to a CAD drawing?+
Yes. Point clouds can be translated into 2D plans, 3D feature lines, surfaces, profiles, sections and existing-condition CAD.
Can the same extraction be delivered to GIS?+
Yes. A coordinated feature set can be attributed and delivered as SHP, FileGDB, GeoPackage or other GIS formats.
Do you provide engineering certification?+
Altivue Geospatial provides production data for review by the client’s licensed surveyor or engineer. This service does not include professional certification.
